Alles wird mit allem vernetzt. Das ist das Prinzip der Digitalisierung. Das Internet der Dinge wird bis 2020 weltweit 50 Milliarden Geräte miteinander vernetzen. Natürlich macht dieser Trend auch vor dem eigenen Zuhause nicht halt, das dadurch nach und nach zum Smart Home wird.
Wie gut kommt dieser Trend in Deutschland voran? Die Voraussetzungen sind jedenfalls nicht schlecht: Laut einer Befragung des Bitkom hat immerhin jeder Zweite schon von den Begriffen Smart Home, Connected Home oder Heimvernetzung gehört. Noch besser: fast alle von ihnen wissen auch, was damit gemeint ist. Gleichzeitig haben die Anbieter in jüngster Zeit einige Schwellen für potenzielle Smart-Home-Kunden abgebaut: Funkbasierte Lösungen oder Powerline-Technologien ersetzen die zuvor notwendige aufwändige Verkabelung mit Bussystemen. Cloudbasierte Dienste und über das Internet-Protokoll miteinander verbundene Geräte sorgen für eine bessere Vernetzbarkeit und machen Smart-Home-Lösungen erschwinglicher.
Dennoch sind wir in Deutschland von einer Marktdurchdringung mit Smart-Home-Lösungen noch weit entfernt. Wie lassen sich Interessenten in zufriedene Kunden verwandeln? Wie bringt man Menschen die Möglichkeiten und Vorteile des intelligenten und vernetzten Wohnens näher und baut Vorbehalte ab? Die Erschließung des Marktes kann nur gelingen, wenn das vernetzte Zuhause sich als Standard durchsetzt und nicht in der Nische verharrt.
Klar ist: Derjenige, der in Zukunft die maßgebliche Smart-Home-Plattform beherrscht, wird auch den Zugang zum Kunden und damit große Teile des Markts beherrschen. Dennoch wird es nicht „die eine“ Smart Home-Plattform geben, sondern mehrere, die gleichberechtigt in verschiedenen Bereichen (Elektroinstallation, CE, Weiße Ware etc.) nebeneinander existieren. Wichtig sind hier natürlich offene Schnittstellen (APIs, SDKs), damit Vernetzung zwischen diesen Smart Home-Domänen ermöglicht wird. Ein interessantes Ergebnis der Fachtage: Nicht immer muss man sich auch zwangsläufig neue, vernetzbare Geräte anschaffen.
Smart Home ist die Wohnform für die individuellen und gesellschaftlichen Anforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts.
