Last Mile One Pager – on the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) and the Pilot Regime for DLT-based Market Infrastructure
As stated in our more detailed position paper on the topic from early this year, we see both the MiCAR and the DLT pilot regime as political milestones for blockchain/crypto adoption that could drive institutional growth and global standards. However, with regard to the ECON draft reports in the European Parliament and some key aspects of the proposals, we believe further changes are crucial in order to create a thriving European Blockchain ecosystem and prevent the stifling and outflow of innovation.
Hence, we drafted two short one pagers compiling the necessary adjustments that are, in our opinion, critical in order to make those regulations a success in its final discussions and negotiations in the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. We urge all policy stakeholders to consider these aspects and look forward to further discussing and detailing our standpoint.
