The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the binding legal framework for the protection of personal data. The GDPR is able to impose severe sanctions; high fines have already been imposed on several occasions.
Printers and multifunction devices that are able to copy, fax and scan are prime examples of systems that often receive attention last of all within companies. Nonetheless, these devices also process personal data. The question therefore arises as to how GDPR conformity can be implemented sensibly and correctly, whether GDPR-compliant printing can be purchased "off the peg" and what measures have to be observed.
This guide highlights the aspects which should be considered in order to achieve GDPR conformity in an easily understandable form and language. It is intended to help both large and small companies, authorities and organizations to achieve greater data protection and legal conformity in the areas of printing, scanning, faxing and copying.
The guide is also available in German. You can find the download link to the English guide directly here, and the link to the German guide further down on this page.
