Bitkom on the eIDAS 2.0 Council's General Approach
The European Parliament negotiates the European Council’s General Approach for a review of the eIDAS Regulation, aiming to introduce a European Digital Identity. Its purpose is a streamlined European legal framework for secure public electronic identification and trust services, facilitating and giving people access to public, private and cross-border digital transactions. Bitkom supports the promotion of trusted digital identities to all European citizens and legal entities through the introduction of a EUID Wallet.
